  1. 110th Central Park North. Up on 111st was The Black Unicorn Cycle Club that owned the Coma Dust spot on 111st near 7th ave. The entire area is no more. Harlem is not Harlem anymore, it’s a been rebuilt with a different mind set. Going “accross 110st” is the same as going across 86st. Not much difference. Great photo though…….

    1. The black unicorns never had or was associated with the drug gang coma crew the black unicorns was a neighborhood biker crew who did alot for the area they did bike rallys AZ ND helped the area churches so who ever is writing this piece is misinformed .I know for a fact because I was a member and hung around them since the age of 13yrs old so go back and get ur in formation correct

      1. Would you be able to provide more history on the club, like when they were established and who founded the club.

  2. Young person was right the black unicorns was a community biker Club who took care of the community blacks and Hispanics respected them and all others respected them they were club that kept to themselves never bother nobody and took care of the community me as a Puerto Rican growing up in that neighborhood I respect and admire the black unicorns where are you Brothers God bless you all Jesse from the West Side Familia

  3. Black Unicorns and the Black Falcons were the neighborhood MC’s. They were all good brothers that loved to have a good time. I miss the old Harlem: Wilts, Wells, Flash Inn, Smalls Paradise, Renny etc. If you wasn’t there you wouldn’t know!

  4. I was in the Black Unicorn back then, which was started in the Early seventies the original club location was on Amsterdam ave and moved to lenox and 110th and 111st about around early 74..There are a few of us still around, the original president was kill in 1974 in a corvette accident on the major deacon expressway in Dec 1974 His name was Cakeman,(He had one of the biggest funeral harlem Fevey had But the president that took over after is still alive and living in the Harlem área…..I and we have the whole story and (WHAT A STORY IT IS)

    1. How you doing brother I would like to know more about the black unicorns MC history I’m a outlaw historian I met a lady who was a member a few years ago but I forgot her name

    2. When the Harlem Day Parade was something special, I remember the empty motorcycles in the Parade with the Black Unicorns. I asked my Mom who owned them? She told me the members who were killed. My Dad & God Father were Black Unicorns.

  5. Oh and one more thing to set the récord straight The Black Unicorn was not involved nor did they own the (COMA DUST spot on 7th ave) or no other Dust spot……………………………….

    1. Jerry is this you? Man!!! I have been trying to get in touch with some of the old heads of Our club under our illustrious President Cakeman, Baldy, Stubby. This is Count Dracula from Amsterdam to Our Lenox Ave club. I was inducted at the Amsterdam club address; then we moved to the Lenox address. I am a Funeral Director who was working at The Benta’s Funeral Home in Harlem for many years back then. I am also a retired Neurosurgeon who was loved by all!!! Jerry, the last time I saw you, it was at a Rev Shambach meeting under a revival tent on Prospect Ave in the Bronx. You told me then that you were a Preacher!!! Are you still in the ministry? Tyace, Trafton, Sonya, Gail were my girlfriend’s. Fuggy, Abigail, Sonya, Grace were some of our GREAT Lady members and Family. Boy!!!!! What a flashback!!!! I miss all of you so very dearly!!!!! There was none like us at The Black Unicorns, where we welcomed all and loved all!!!! We lost so many great members to all kinds of scenarios, but OUR main goal was in taking care of the Harlem neighborhood!!!!!! If I could turn back the hands of Time! I would already be back there, to NEVER leave again!!!!!!!! My email address is : laevans446@gmail.com. PLEASE Hit me when you can!!!!! Love you ALL!!!!! Dr Evans The original Million Dollar Baby!!!! 6. Oh yes by the way, it was my Funeral Home; Benta’s F. H. of Harlem NYC that had the funerals of our president Cakeman and most others who went in during those times!! From various clubs as our sister club in the Bronx, The Black Falcons. I directed “Cakes” Funeral also!!!! I Rode My motorcycle and flew My Colors leading the funeral procession throughout Harlem. Nothing like it since!!!!!! Cakes” Family gave me the teardrop Blue suit he was supposed to wear!!!! I we ALL LOVED Mr Ronnie “CakeMan” Baker!!!! AND HE LOVED US!!!!!!! R.I.P. OUR GREAT LEADER!!!!! The 🦇Count Dracula.🦇⚕️🔬💉💊⚰️🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇

  7. I remember the original Black Unicorn Motorcyle Club as a kid living on 111th st and Lenox ave back in the 1960’s

  8. My father was a member of Black Unicorns . his name was Chuck. His member name was “Kung Foo” he was killed in dec 25 1999. He was 39 . I have many pics of him on his bike .

  9. I grew up at 1270 Fifth Avenue, over on 108th Street. I went to school on the West Side. Rode past the Central Park Lounge many times in the twilight on the #4 bus, the neon lights were attractive. My father worked in a factory in New Jersey but always wore white dress shirts to work. There was a Chinese laundry next door to the Black Unicorns M.C. and my father would leave me in the car while he went in to get his shirts. I was kind of scared of the Unicorns but never had a problem. I would peek out of the car window (a Rambler) and look at the bikes. All that is gone now: Central Park Lounge, Black Unicorns, Chinese laundry. And I am old. All those moments…lost in time…like tears in rain.

    1. Thank you for adding another layer. The Unicorns would have not hurt you, lol. More than likely would have put you on a Motorcycle. ☺️. God Bless

      1. I always remember the Black Unicorns when I was living on 111th street and Lenox avenue right over the Nat Nevins Men’s clothing store from 1955 to 1965 on the uptown side, they had the Central Park Lounge on the Corner of 110th street and Lenox avenue then they had a garage between 110 and 111th street and St. Nick I remember as a kid and I remembering seeing the Unicorns gathering together that was exciting for me I will never forget that.

    2. I moved to 112th and St. Nicholas Avenue in 1987.
One of the Black Unicorns member had invited me to hang out at their club.
I am Japanese and stood out but I remember having a great time there.
Great music by Sam? I think that was his name, and Jazz session at the basement.
A lot of great memories in Harlem.

  10. You are correct! I am Ron Evans aka Count Dracula! I became a member when we were on Upper St Nicholas Ave, Manhattan, with Ronnie Baker ( Nicky Barnes Nephew) who was presiden. Vernon (Baldy) was Vice Pres; and Stubby, Fat-man, Pretty Smitty, Fleetwood and myself and many others TenderSlim, Fast Black, Zero, Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra, Wolf , Shorty, Big Mike, Scobie our only Norton rider! Candy Man and others were dynamic on Central Park West next to The Famous Central Park Lounge, across from Canaan Bapt Church! I am 75 years old; but the memories we had were the most awesome that we all hadddd! THOSE WERE THE DAYS! The Great 70’s!! THE WILL NEVER BE AGAIN! EVER! Some of our beautiful ladies, Grace, Sonya, Tyace, Fugy, Harriet, and many others! If I could turn back the Hands of Time! I missed a lot of our Black Unicorns names! Please forgive me! Your Spirits Always Ride with me! Semper Fi to my great friend Jerry Love! I miss and LOVE ALL OF YOU, The Neurosurgeon!
