Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe. View all posts by Matt Weber
Really sorry to hear about all the changes happening at Coney for those of you who grew up there and have many memories.
I always tell people NYC has no time for nostalgia. It’s always focused on moving forward…financial investments outweigh emotional attachments.
I keep thinking about the 1970s NYC that was essentially bankrupt. I’m guessing since then NYC officials welcome any kind of business investments that elevate the city financially.
