I went to Coney Island in April and shot one roll of film. Luckily I was shooting HP5 at the time because this image would have paled in color (I think). The world is full of color, but this picture throws me right back into the “What to shoot” dilemma…I’m sure I’ll work this out over the next 25 years…

Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe.

“feel the Force Matt”
I have a picture that`s almost exactly the same as yours.
Even the composition is similar.

I love those angry eyes in the street. Sometimes when i shoot them i just take my camera off my face and smile to them and in most cases they smile back. It`s a great feeling 🙂
Another great shot, big fan of your work. I also have a similar shot (though not as impactful) of hindu ladies eating ice-cream – nice contrast between cultures.
Thanks!
