For decades this smaller version sat on top of a building on West 64th Street near Lincoln center…

“New Home for the Urban Prisoner” 1989
I don’t remember where this awful looking building is, but I assume it was meant to incarcerate the new exploding population of crack-Heads that were making NYC a real drag back in ’89…
If I am wrong and this is a condo with slits for windows, then I wasn’t keeping up with the latest real estate trends…

“The Bubble Boy” (New Scan) 1999
I took this picture on a day when it hit 100º and the Tri-X in my Leica actually started to melt or reticulate from the heat. I almost burned my hand when I touched the camera and I guess the film was somehow damaged. Maybe I just fucked up the development, but I prefer thinking that the heatwave had its way with my film…

Fotosidan Scandinavian Street Photography Blog
A big thanks to Tobias Ackerman who was kind enough to have “Fotosidan” feature my work. Fotosidan is one of Scandinavia’s best “Street” blogs and it’s a drag that I can’t read the text.

Motorcycle 1988
Finally, a new scan of an old favorite. I think that this image as scanned would fit on a sheet of 20×24″ paper very nicely. Maybe I should try and do that contrived bullshit, and print only five or ten of them and make a few shekels for a change…Buy one today before Gagosian buys out the entire run!

“Perfect Kiss” 2003
Andre Kertesz the great Hungarian photographer once said he waited his whole life to take a picture of a pigeon flying in front of a tenement. (It was an amazing photo) I felt that way about this image. I could easily have gone a hundred years without being this lucky again…
This picture is NOT in my book, “The Urban Prisoner” but is used to decorate the back of the dust jacket. I have a few copies of the book which I will sell to anyone interested for $60 signed or inscribed. I will pay for the shipping as well. Paypal me and the book will appear in just three days. You can’t beat that with a stick! (A silly saying that I never liked)

I sincerely apologize if this picture causes any pain to anyone, but I have decided to post the photos I took that morning and I realize that they can be very depressing. There is a need for discussion about what lead to the massacre and everything which happened as a result of the attacks that day. I am probably not capable of neutral and sensible debate, so please don’t expect me to see the Saudi point of view. I realize that we had military bases in Saudi Arabia and that there is a sacred black cube there which may contain Allah himself, but I never want 3,000 people to be incinerated, no matter who they are…
