If you like cameras and cars, then here’s the oldest camera store with a Duster parked right in front. I don’t know if it really is the oldest store, but 1898 is pretty old. I don’t really know if the car’s a Duster, but it looks like one…

Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe.

Thank You
Anytime!
This scene seems to be taken straight from a gritty 70’s movie, something by Scorsese maybe. It feels like his characters are lurking just barely out of sight…
I like that! Thanks…
Words can’t describe how much these neon signs & this wilderness of yours, Matt. Terrific! All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
That car is a 72 Dodge Demon
I lived in New York City (Queens) from 1957 till 1971 and bought my first low cost Kodak 8mm movie camera with three lens turret there. Didn’t think the store still existed.
Three years ago on my 78 birthday I bought (not in Willoughby’s but here in Belgium) a digital P&S camera and am shooting away on the go as much as possible, inspired by you and some of the other “streeters”, although, and not surprisingly, without the talent and same results, but it’s fun.
Had quite a few trips there in the ’60s with my grandmother who was an amateur photographer and had something to do with my love of photography. I’m surprised that the store is still there!
