Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe. View all posts by Matt Weber

Nice one!
Well here’s a shot that puts things in perspective… Just when ya thought things weren’t going your way. So far I’ve avoided foot problems… So far!
As for the capture… Classic!
Thanks! I remember this was a hard photo to take because there was a black guy watching me and he had that look on his face that I was a complete piece of shit, and I understood his feeling that way…However, the image was just strong enough to make me take the picture despite the tension, and justify the temporary feeling of shame that I felt afterwords…
This one was worth the momentary tension and street photographer’s shame… I just spent a couple of days shooting on NYC streets and know these feelings…
There are lines which are uncomfortable to cross. Sometimes they are worth crossing, and sometimes it’s better to pass…
good picture but I don’t understand what was being done man
Probably taking a nap…
