It’s amazing what a “throw away” this image was when I took it. I never thought I’d be happy, make that thrilled, to find it again…

  1. I have a friend, Tommy, in Athens, Tennessee who shot a similar photo, with far less advanced equipment (a cell phone cam)…it was one of the great blog posts of all time. He was standing outside during a break at work, chanced to look up at the wide open sky, and spotted a great big cloud in the shape of the number “5.” I loved it…his post, the photo…it made me laugh so that he printed a color 8×10 for me and sent it to me for a recent birthday. I’m all about the alphanumeric clouds.

  2. X marks the spot? What a fateful shot as a harbinger of things to come. Sad and significant too in that the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, thereby virtually eliminating one of two superpowers, and leaving the US as the only remaining target or challenge to the Muslim extremists.
