Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe. View all posts by Matt Weber

Interesting camera angle (never mind the great moment you caught!). You’re either seven feet tall, or were holding your camera over your head, or…standing on something?
No, I’m six feet barely and they were probably barely five feet…I hate shooting blind and only do so in rare instances when there is no other way…
Must be the wide angle then, that accentuates the perspective. Just noticed the other girl looks like she is about to put her thumb in her mouth, or has just done it. Must be a rude gesture, rather than a sticky-food-removal technique I had initially assumed.
I rarely go wider than a 28mm lens so I guess that’s the reason it seems that way…I often notice details long after taking a picture…
