I guess it’s been quite a while since they painted those giant ads. in Times Square. Photoshop killed off more jobs that we can count. Painters, air brushers, photographers and even more important…Artists.

“1964 FALL OCCUPANCY” Times Sq. 1986
During the later years of Robert Moses New York lost Penn Station and that was a great loss. In or around 1962 this small and seemingly inconsequential building was also slated for demolition, but somehow survived for another quarter century! I was thrilled when I saw this sign predicting the demise of this small structure. Even if I felt like the little building was Davey vs. Goliath, it really was just a case of something old surviving against the odds for a few more years than it was suppose to…
