She insists on riding the giant Wonder Wheel by herself. “Can I come with you?” NO daddy!

I think this is a pretty decent photograph. I go out of my way to get a very talented guitarist to sing Happy Birthday to my daughter, and he’s rocking his butt off, but my kid is much more concerned with what her friends are doing. It could have been Jimi Hendrix and she would still say “who cares, he’s boring daddy”…

I think this may have been taken in Astroland but the main story is that “Little” loves the water gun game, and always loses. Finally last year with a lifetime record of 0-15 she beat a young boy and was thrilled with her victory. It’s amazing that winning can be so important to a girl at such a young age, but I guess it’s just part of the human condition…

She’s almost as good at troubleshooting as I am, except when she doesn’t get her way with a computer, then look out. I should build a custom “Nerf” computer for her. As I get older and more useless, it will be cool to have her at my beck and call to fix what ever problems OS 11 or OS 12 has…
I guess the most common reaction to this picture is that it could have been taken during any era. The kid sitting in the foreground is my daughter. In 21st century New York it’s difficult to make a “timeless” image. Once again, this is an old scan from a print and one day I’ll upgrade it, but not now…

Mike Peters used a longish lens on his trusty Hasselblad to capture me and my kid on the old Water Flume, which is the same one that was at the 1964 worlds fair. Despite the look of sheer terror, she enjoyed it very much and went a few more times!
