“Todd Webb 1946” Harlem 1986
I was looking through one of my many photo-books and I noticed that Todd Webb’s classic picture of a Pierce Arrow automobile looked very familiar. Exactly forty years after he took this splendid picture, I drove up in my taxi and snapped a very similar image one morning. The four decades did take their toll on the fire escape and the doors were replaced with plainer ones, but the theater retained its style as best it could…
