Visiting NYC with my best friend in 1971, her father took us from Staten Island into NYC. I remember passing by the Metropole Go Go and looking in hearing the song, “Smiling Faces Sometimes” by the Undisputed Truth and seeing the ladies inside pole dancing. I was 18 and I’m now 65. Whenever I hear that song, and it isn’t often, I think of that day.
