I know this total hyperbole but I once heard that the Beasty Boys lived upstairs in this adorable wooden house on West 100th St. Regardless of who lived there, this building was still in its 19th century elegance when I took this photo. I think there may be a modern restaurant called the Metro Diner there now…

John Berry, the original guitarist for the Beaties, grew up there I believe.
Weevil, you are correct. There were some early rehearsals, etc., there as well. I’ve seen interior shots in the Beastie Boys archives….
