Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe.

Gas was sooooo cheap then! Great photo.
Interesting that you like that one the best. I like the the jumbled imagery, the starkness of the pole on the left somehow referening the inside structures of the soon to be revealed Trade Center…the childs stuffed toy (innocence) strangled …and of course who could miss the central motif of the gas guzzling politically dangerous mix of cars and the gas prices..the mideast connection – the root of it all .Its a strikingly surreal and chaotic image …an onion thats peeled away. I’m enjoying your work here and on the Manhattan B4 1990 page.
