I was shocked when I found this arrangement and it takes a bit to shock me. I guess I thought it may have been one of those Santeria sacrifices which were quite popular in New York twenty years ago. (Might still be)

Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe.

Interesting composition. Good eye. I rented an apartment, the top floor of an old house, that used to be a halfway house for alcoholics. One day, the landlord and I went into the attic to put in some insulation, through a trap door in the roof of a bathroom and found an immense pile of old wine and liquor bottles. It was so sad.
