Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe. View all posts by Matt Weber
The glasses add mystery, you can’t tell if she’s clocked the camera or not.

This is such a great shot of Harlem in the 80’s! We love the sunglasses with the safety strap and definitely echo mostlymonochrome in that we like how you can’t tell if she’s looking at the camera or not!
Its amazing how cyclical fashion can be, those Wayfarer sunglasses have come back strong in today’s era, always liked the look of those sunglasses..
I agree about fashion, so lets hope the “Hot Pants” of the late ’60s makes a comeback next summer.
So we can discuss it as a social phenomena only of course…
I agree 100% Matt, by next summer’s time all the kids will be wearing their hot pants with pride and joy…
