I can’t date this subway sign. It has stencil style letters which were lit at night. It’s also making a feeble attempt at being “Art Deco”…Perhaps Kevin at Forgotten New York will know if this is pre-war or not…

I love it! I just had a photo I shot of an art deco subway sign at Jay Street Borough Hall run on the cover of the Brooklyn Paper (supposed to depict peeling paint on the ceiling). I thought it was OK…you could have done it so much more justice, as I am a mere novice at this photography stuff. This shot is fantastic.
