The thing about shooting film which may seem weird to some digital folk is, that you’re always at least one season behind in processing your images…

Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe.

Are you kidding me? I’m _lucky_ if I’m only one season behind. As I write this I’m scanning a roll of Delta 3200 I shot on Thanksgiving Morning 2008 while I was living in Phoenix, AZ. Normally I’m more up-to-date than that, but sometimes, especially with films I don’t develop much, I’m further behind.
Chris, At a certain point, and I have no idea when that would be, film starts to lose a tiny bit of its latent image.
I’ve heard of twenty year old film still coming out nicely, but I doubt I’ll ever find out for sure how long is too long…
