Yes the night Reggie Jackson hit three home runs to end the 1977 world series, I was sitting in the upper deck with my dad. I think David McCall “Snat” was also there. I still remember the third home run just disappearing into the dark night, well actually the black bleachers…$10 not a bad deal…

Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe.

Matt.
Your photos are incredible. Im currently a photojournalism student in S.F. but my mothers family is from Yonkers, N.Y. and when I was a kind my grandfather (who was a limo driver) used to take me to Yankees games. So I can really relate to your photos. When you take the photos on the subways do you just shoot away or do you ask the people? At any rate great stuff, Man. Thanks for the inspiration. Peace
Good luck becoming a PJ…I’m terrible at that type of work cause I don’t take down people’s names and stories, I just shoot away.
I think that you’ll have to become talented with video because the high def cameras will be so good that the individual frames will
be good enough to make beautiful prints from…Thanks!
I was at the 1977 and 1978 series. 😀 I was in the bleachers. I still have my ticket from 1977 sixth game, as you do, since Yankees did not need to play it. 😀 What a great night of baseball when RJ hit the homeruns.
