I think this is a fantastic porcelain neon sign. I once stopped in and tried the food, but I personally did not think it was very good. I may not be an expert on food, but when it comes to old signs, I do know my stuff…

Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe.

Is this your pig or Sherman’s stupid pig? Now that I found out that it is not your pig I am going to say bye bye nitwit pig
You do know your stuff!!
Is this from the one that used to be on 151 Street and Amsterdam? Your work is wonderful!
Yes Michael, That was where I took this picture. I tried an order of ribs because the place had a good rep, but I remember being very disappointed…Same thing happened a few years ago in Little Rock. The famous place sucked…Oh well.
I used to live a block away from there. The joke in the neighborhood was Sherman’s hadn’t changed their grease in twenty years. I recall my mother insisting that we never eat their. I loved that sign though.
That’s pretty funny Michael…Thanks
