1964 Worlds’ Fair Lights
I was lucky enough to go to the world’s fair in 1964-65 several times. I made my mom and uncle take me on the water flume as many times as I could. The ride ended up in Coney Island’s Astroland, and my daughter convinced me to ride it over forty years later. Driving through the Poconos, I noticed these strange and somewhat futuristic lights all over an abandoned resort. It turns out that they are the same lamps which lit the world’s fair back in Queens!
