Nathan’s never closes, which during a blizzard is a good thing. Even if you don’t like hotdogs, their greasy french fries will keep you happy for a few minutes till your stomach realizes what you just ingested. I guess I like extremes, because my best days at Coney are when it’s 100º or during a friggin’ blizzard…

Columbus Circle 2009

Photographs lie all the time. I could easily title this picture “Love is tough” or something to that effect, but the truth is of course totally unknown. Maybe he just told her that he would not be joining her for dinner at her mother’s house on Saturday, and for one moment there was a tiny bit of tension…They might end up living happily for 50 years and have three adorable kids…

The Water Flume at Coney Island’s Astroland by Mike Peters 2007

Mike Peters used a longish lens on his trusty Hasselblad to capture me and my kid on the old Water Flume, which is the same one that was at the 1964 worlds fair. Despite the look of sheer terror, she enjoyed it very much and went a few more times!
