Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe.

I was a bike messenger from 1982-1986. The city is far different than what it is now. I used to have my favorite places to eat or go to for shopping. I knew the whole city. I still know how to get around. The meatpacking district was just that, a meatpacking district. Not some chic hangout as it is now. Nassau st used to be a great place to shop as was Orchard st. Katz deli always had great sandwiches although not as expensive as it is today. I still go there with my daughter when I’m in New York City. Howard Johnson’s in Times square….I could go on and on about the old New York City. It was such a place to explore. Not so much now. Everything seems like…everywhere else except for the multitude of tourists.
What is there now, I’m trying to figure out exactly the spot.
