Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe. View all posts by Matt Weber

Like so many of your photographs, this one brings back memories; I worked there on the 25th floor from 1981-1986. And even after all this time, can’t get used to calling it the MetLife building.
Thanks Rona!
Last time I checked Memphis didn’t have any smog laws so in your case, yeah, it’s street legal (I grew up in Eastern Arkansas and went to MUS back in the day). I didn’t install the regulator but have always intended to get one. Mine does smell like gas and runs rich and I’ve been told that a regulator might help that but it hasn’t been high on my list as the Jeep drives fine. Headers didn’t really make any difference to be honest. I’ve run the weber since 1998 and didn’t add the header until 2002 (and the header didn’t really make any noticeable difference). Weber without header was not much (if any) different that Weber with header. Get the EMPI carb, go over to Jeepz.com and check out the TFI upgrade and do that at the same time. I did TFI to my 2nd Jeep and it’s works as well as the pricey Jacobs system I have on the 1st Jeep. You do the EMPI/Weber carb, ignition upgrade (TFI or you can search HEI here which some people seem to like better than the TFI) and do the nutter bypass (again, do a search here and you’ll find a link or if you can’t find it I’ve got the link saved on my home computer). Do those three and your Jeep will be a whole different vehicle as far as drivability is concerned.
Weber Carbs are good, but spam is NOT!
