Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe. View all posts by Matt Weber

love the mood evoked here…apologizes for asking what is probably all too common a question, but can you tell me what you shoot with (camera and film). thanks!
I have recently switched to a very expensive emulsion: Kodak Portra 800, which is now $10 per roll ion NYC! It is wonderful and I wish money wasn’t a factor. I switched to a Leica M6 about twelve years ago, when I realized that I would never be able to afford one. Sometimes that’s the time to buy one. If you wait till you can afford one, then you may never buy one, and that would be a shame!
Thanks for the compliment…
