I’m busy rescanning old stuff and if it’s boring, I understand and apologize…

Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe.

I believe in the past you noted that while a decent number of people bristled at being photographed, only once were you concerned for your safety after taking somebody’s photo in close subway quarters. I’m curious about the rest, especially those like this fellow who clearly see you taking the photo. Do they then just shrug it off? Do many people ask who you are and what you’re doing in a friendly way? Do people ask for copies? Thanks. I’ve taken some subway photos but mostly surreptitious – I haven’t moved up to open carry yet.
No one has asked for photos…A few have complained and only once was I in danger…
I occasionally wish I could find certain people and give them a print, when the image has been very interesting…
Thanks Matt. I appreciate that you’ve always been responsive.
