I still haven’t figured out whether or not I want to stop shooting Black & White film. I find color intriguing, but I must have monochrome DNA…

Photographing NYC for 25 years, six of them while driving a New York City taxi. Trying very hard to capture the city as life unfolds, meaning I never stage any of my photos! Also I am a close confidant of the immortal Dave Beckerman, (quintessential NYC photographer) and owner of the first photography blog in the known universe.

Matt-
friends don’t let friends post color.
Danger Danger Will Robinson…
Shooting color is alluring, but it’s such a mess, that unrestrained palette.
I hate it when Dave goes off the wagon, falls down the color rabbit-hole.
I know Bill, but the challenge of the palette is hard to resist. I like to think that I can conquer both emulsions. This picture was Fuji C-41 scanned in grayscale.
The old color films were terrible when converted to B & W.
Dave will probably shoot film again, before I shoot any digital…
I found your shots are great
Thanks again!
I hardly can’t keep up with all your posts, but I’d say: it’s great to have the choice between film and digital, although your street photography is really great in b/w. As long as I can buy Tri-X, I’ll make some attempts as well…
Every time I find a film that I really like, they take it away…
