Mosque 1989

I remember when this rather large mosque was being built and wonder how the upper east side would have reacted if this was after 9/11….Would it exist or would the outcry have been enough to make them build it elsewhere?

I always marveled at this building on 100th Street and Broadway, till they completely renovated it. It seemed like a building which one might have found in Kansas during the late nineteenth century…

The South Bronx? 1993

In some neighborhoods, the churches were the only buildings which didn’t get torched. On the upper west side, they did burn down some churches to build high rises. If there’s enough money at stake, some people will do anything…
